"Wishing you well" card

My next creation was this card that I made using old music paper that I found at a local antique shop. I distressed the edges and applied Tim Holtz distress ink "Walnut Stain" to darken around it. I stamped the image using Tim Holtz Components stamp "Bird Song"and Archival Brillance "Graphite Black" ink on light brown cardstock. I then stamped the same image on blue cardstock and cut out the bird using an exacto knife so I could get close to the edges. I placed a pop-dot behind it to give it dimension.
This is a very easy card to make that can be altered in many ways. Quick and easy!! Enjoy!

The edges of the bird were also inked using Tim Holtz distress ink "Walnut Stain". This makes the bird stand out.

I also tied some beading cord to add a different type of texture and dimension to the card. I like to add as many different textures and techniques to my work to keep the eye wandering around the project.

My little "Boo"

Today was a busy day no time for scrapbooking with work and my daughter Maddie. She finally got her hair cut today. Her hairdresser, Courtney, from Comfort U cut her "long strains". Thank you Ms. Courtney! We decided to cut 10" off her hair. She already donated a couple of years ago 12" to the "Locks of Love". Her hair grows fast. When Courtney cut her hair Maddie kept turning her head side to side to flip her hair in her face. It was so cute as if she was say "Look how cute I am now"! What some of you may not know is Maddie has Spastic Cerebral Palsy Quadriplegia. She is the love of my life and you will notice that my scrapbooking revolves around her. She is my little scrapbook model! :) Enjoy the pics.

Challenge #37 ScrapFIT "Dream a Little Dream"

I wanted to try my first online scrapbook challenge. ScrapFIT put on this challenge #37 "Dream a Little Dream".  Check out the link. Thank you girls it definitely was a challenge. I hope you all enjoy it.

I took this picture of my daughter Maddie, she fell asleep sitting on my lap so I wanted to keep the picture upright since that was the way it was taken. I used Basic Gray's Paper "Euphoria" for the entire layout. I stenced the flourish in the background using Tim Holtz "Flourish Mask" and CTMH olive ink.

The paper had a floral design which was really cute yet "dreamy" so using my sewing machine I stitched similar flowers to mimic the flowers on the paper and to create some texture as well.

The title is done with Tim Holtz grunge letters. Did I mention that I am an avid
Tim Holtz fan? lol I painted them using his Distress crackle paints: "peeled paint" and "broken china". Once they dried and crackled on their own I sprayed them with "Tattered Angels" Glimmer Mist.

Since this is my first post and my first blog ever I tried an easy one. I created this layout about 8 mos. ago. My daughter is getting older, she is 8 years old now, so I wanted to emphasize how big she has gotten. Once I found the picture of her dad and her I knew exactly what I wanted to do. No, he is not a kid!!! He looks VERY young in this picture!! Maddie I believe was only 6 mos. old in the first one. So I took of picture of the two of them now! How strange that he is also wearing a hat!!
Anyhow, I am an avid Tiom Holtz fan. Anything this guy comes out with I must have. He is so artistic!! I used a pair of Maddie's shorts when she was little and I just flew with this layout. I used Tim Holtz mask and created the silouettes in the background of gears. If you notice in the botton left pocket there is an old pocket watch that I dismantled. Thank you Judy for giving this to me. I took out all of the gears added another pic. and used the gears in the layout! I dont throw a thing away. I hope you enjoy it!
